Despite the ironic image of a classic Adelaide Park Lands bench with its view blocked by the construction of the new Adelaide Aquatic Centre, the intent of this piece is neither to condemn new developments, nor to celebrate them.

Instead, it is intended to inspire conversation about the trade-off between what is lost and what is gained when these developments take place.
