This is what we do. We help you:
EXPLORE
Includes our regular Guided Walks, and self-guided Trail Guides
INSPIRE
Includes our biennial Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize, as well as daily inspirational photos on Instagram
PROTECT
We speak up when your Open Green Public Spaces are threatened, and we campaign to save them
RESTORE
We undertake clean-up days and co-ordinate with other groups to rehabilitate or re-green degraded or formerly lost areas of Park Lands.
Our Association’s History and Constitution
Our Association was founded in 1987 as a non-profit community based organisation - a ‘watchdog’ to guard Adelaide’s greatest treasure: the world-unique, National Heritage-listed Adelaide Park Lands.
But we are much more than a watchdog. We offer a focal point for South Australians to explore, be inspired by, protect and restore the Open Green Public spaces that are matched nowhere else in the world.
Follow the links above to see how YOU can get involved in any one of these four ways.
We are an incorporated Association, and so we are bound by this Constitution.
On 18 April 2021, our members voted to change our name from “Adelaide Park Lands Preservation Association” to the simpler “Adelaide Park Lands Association”. The change was formally registered by the Office of Consumer and Business Affairs on 10 August 2021.
