Guided Walks

Helen Hutton

Our Park Ambassador, Helen Hutton leads two different Guided Walks in this Park each year. One Guided Walk traverses the south side of the River, and includes the adjacent Helen Mayo Park in Park 27.

The other Guided Walk traverses the major part of Park 26; i.e. north of the River. See our schedule of Guided Walks.

But don’t wait for a scheduled Guided Walk. Take your own self-guided walk, at any time, using one of these two Trail Guides. Click or tap on one of the images below.

Take this self-guided walk through the northern part of Tarntanya Wama (Park 26) (i.e. north of the River) with our Trail Guide. Starting at the corner of War Memorial Drive and King William Road, the Trail takes from 90 minutes to two hours.

Take this self-guided walk through Elder Park, the Riverbank Precinct and Helen Mayo Park, with our Trail Guide. Starting at the Elder Park rotunda, the Trail takes about 90 minutes.

This Park has had many parts sold off or leased off to private or sectoral interests; e.g. the Intercontinental Hotel, Riverside office building, Adelaide Casino, Adelaide Convention Centre, Festival Theatre, Next Gen fitness centre, Memorial Drive tennis facilities, Adelaide Oval etc are all built on land alienated from Park 26.
